Dallas City Council finally in place after runoff election
Runoff elections for Dallas City Council were held this past Saturday. Businessman Tom Leppert grabbed 58% of the vote in his win over long time city council member Ed Oakley.
In other city council elections:
- For Place 3, with 52 percent of the vote, Dave Neumann defeated Joseph Hernandez for Ed Oakley’s open seat.
- In District 5, Vonciel Hill took 63 percent of the vote in her win over Betty Culbreath for the seat left vacant by Donald Hill.
- In District 7, Carolyn Davis grabbed 57 percent of the vote over Donald Parish, for the seat left vacant by Leo Chaney.
- In District 8, 58 percent of voters chose Tennel Atkins over Charlie Rose as a replacement for James Fantroy.
