This morning the Grand Prairie Police Department, along with friends and family of the late Sergeant, unveiled a four-feet-tall granite memorial located at the actual site of his death: in the Grand Prairie Wal-Mart parking lot.
The memorial is situated opposite of the Wal-Mart building at 2225 W I-20, south of I-20.

Apparently, Denise Hunter (the sergeant's widow) looks remarkably like Angelina Jolie.

the sunglasses help. that's a terrific photo, with the looming memorial in the foreground, where you can see not only the words but also the coolness of the gray stone and the contrast of its textures. it almost doesn't look real. and the way it angles - such a great composition. and the woman's blurry, fragile presence in the background, with her hand to her neck.
