Oak Point City Council makes English official language
On Monday the Oak Point City Council narrowly passed a resolution (3-2) making English the town's official language.
The DMN reports that three dozen or so citizens who attended the meeting objected to its passage, while former Oak Point Mayor Dave Klewicki disagreed specifically with the supporters of the measure, who have claimed its passage wouldn't cost the city any money, by pointing to the legal cost of Farmers Branch's anti-illegal-immigration ordinance.
Oak Point resides in Denton County above Lake Dallas, just a little but west of Frisco. Apparently they do jazzercise there.
