Ex-Carroll ISD swim coach accused of sexual relationship with 17-year-old student not indicted
Despite a 2003 Texas state law that criminalizes the sexual relationship between teachers and their students who are within the age of consent (17 and up), a Tarrant County jury decided not to indict Byron Eugene Coyle, 26. The former Carroll Senior High School swim coach was accused of having sex with a 17-year-old student at his school. Last September, a Hebron High School teacher was similarly accused from her involvement with an 18-year-old student. She was also not indicted under the 2003 law.
