Farmers Branch to celebrate Independence Day July 3

Dedication of a Memorial Rose Garden will begin the festivities at 6:30 p.m.

— Citizens get ready to rock and roll with the returning popular “Crawfish Band” at the annual free Farmers Branch Independence Day Celebration Tuesday, July 3, 7:30 p.m. at the Farmers Branch Historical Park.

Of special interest is the dedication of a Memorial Rose Garden which will begin the festivities at 6:30 p.m., near the Victorian Cottage. The garden, dedicated in memory of Ruthan Rogers, was designed by the City in cooperation with Texas A&M and will feature Earthkind experimental roses that require no pesticides or fertilizers.

The “Crawfish” concert begins at 7:30 p.m. A special close range fireworks finale will take place after dark around 9:30 p.m.

The Farmers Branch Historical Park is located at 2540 Farmers Branch Lane, between Denton Drive and Ford Road. Event parking is available at the Metro Square Business Park, two blocks south of the Historical Park on Ford Road with free shuttle service to the gate. Free handicapped parking is available at the DART Park & Ride facility at Denton Drive and Carrick, just south of Valley View. There is also a free shuttle to and from the handicapped parking.
