FORT WORTH Shoppers at stores owned by Safeway, which operates as Tom Thumb, Simon David and Randalls in Texas, have donated a record $363,000 for Easter Seals affiliates in Texas.
“What a truly amazing gift from Tom Thumb and its North Texas shoppers,” said Monica Prather, President and CEO of Easter Seals North Texas. “Their support exemplifies the interest and the need for the services Easter Seals provides. We’re very thankful and pledge to honor the gift with programs that help those with disabilities.”
Nationally, Safeway raised $5.5 million for Easter Seals, which is dedicated to assisting people with disabilities and special needs. Safeway also has pledged to raise an additional $1.3 million for Easter Seals by participating in a variety of fundraising events, including golf tournaments and gala dinners.
