Tontine Casting Tour

So a new reality show, Tontine, is getting off the ground and they are looking for few contestants from the DFW metroplex this weekend at Stonebriar Mall.

What is the premise? All they have released is that participants will travel to all 7 continents and face mental and physical challenges over the course of more than 100 days. And the prize is one of the biggest in reality show history -- $10 million dollars! You must be at least 21 years old and a US citizen to participate. They also would hope that you are physically and mentally stable and can adjust to new environments.

If you think you have what it takes, they will be at Stonebriar Mall on June 30 and July 1 from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Registration forms will be available each day of the audition on the lower level near JCPenney. Simply fill out the application form and wait your turn to be auditioned by casting director, Tad Frank, who has cast shows such as The Amazing Race and The Bachelor. The competition will be hosted by "Boston" Rob Mariano from Survivor and The Amazing Race.

For more info on eligibility requirements, go to the official site.

So I wondered why the show is called Tontine and this is what I found Wikipedially: It like a pool where each investor pays a sum into the tontine. The funds are invested and each investor receives dividends. As each investor dies, his or her share is divided amongst the surviving investors. This process continues until only one investor survives.
