Chinese National Basketball Team to compete in Dallas at Moody Coliseum
Dallas, Texas - The Chinese Men's National Olympic Basketball Team will visit Dallas from June 29th to July 4th for a cultural event, hosted by Victory Park, at the Dallas House of Blues and two exhibition games at Moody Coliseum on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
The Chinese team will face the 2007 USA Basketball Men's Under-19 (U19) World Championship Team on July 1 at 5 p.m. and the Dallas Mavericks Summer League Team on July 3 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 per person for each game. The Chinese Men's National Olympic team is expected to feature NBA All-Star Yao Ming and NBA prospects Sun Yue and Yi Jianlian, who is projected to be a top 10 pick in Thursday's draft. The Chinese Men's National Team also will be competing in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas from July 6-15.
Local players on the current USA Basketball Men's U19 Team roster include former South Oak Cliff High School standout Darrell Arthur, who now plays for the University of Kansas, and DeAndre Jordan, who was ranked as the top high school player in Texas last year and will play at Texas A&M in the fall.
The Dallas Maverick Summer League Team is expected to include 2006 first-round draft choice Maurice Ager, DeSagana Diop, Jose Juan Barea and Pops Mensah-Bonsu.
