Rain alters Carrollton’s July 4th but concert and fireworks are still on
Fourth of July 2007
Click here for a full list of July 4th events.
CARROLLTON Carrollton’s Independence Day Celebration on Wednesday, July 4 will feature a free performance by stomp-style band Vocal Trash at 7:15 p.m. The spectacular fireworks display by Pyrotex will cap the evening at 9:30 p.m. Other attractions begin at 7:00 p.m. including giveaways and roving entertainers.
Because of the wet grounds at the Kelly Blvd. event site, all food and drink vendors, inflatable slides, kids’ train, and the Carrollton Wind Symphony performance are cancelled. Heavy vehicles used to set-up vendor tents and equipment could damage the sports fields.
Citizens are encouraged to bring their own picnics, snacks and drinks, and lawn chairs or blankets while they enjoy a great concert and fireworks show.
The main stage concert and other activities will be held in the large parking lot at 2001 Kelly Blvd. (south of Keller Spring and across from Ted Polk Middle School).
Reminder: There is no public parking at the event site. Free round-trip shuttle bus service operates from 6:00 to 8:45 p.m. from four convenient sites:
• City Hall, 1945 E. Jackson Road
• Newman Smith High School, 2335 N. Josey Lane
• Creekview High School, 3201 Old Denton Road
• Carrollton Shopping Center, southeast corner of Belt Line and Josey Lane
Buses will promptly return everyone to their park-n-ride locations after the fireworks show.
