Rowlett man sentenced to life after a December 2006 assault spree
Reginald Newton, 27, was responsible for terrorizing six women on the night of December 6. The incidents in the night ranged from stalking, to punching a woman in the back of the head, to forcing one woman into his car where she was sexually assaulted at knife point. Newton was given two life sentences for the assaults and kidnapping, and 90 years for an aggravated robbery charge. His family was present to speak for how he had been rehabilitating himself and taking care of his daughter. It was clear, however, that Newton was not when some of the people in the courtroom discovered that he was writing down his victims' addresses when they were presented with a poster of the information. The notes were taken from him.
