Tuberculosis scare at Mansfield High School
A letter was mailed Wednesday, June 27, to parents of students who attended Mansfield High School in spring of 2007. The letter explains Mansfield ISD was notified by the Tarrant County Public Health Department (TCPHD) of a student from Mansfield High School who was recently diagnosed with Tuberculosis (TB.)
The Health Department has identified potential contacts and is providing the appropriate screening. Since significant exposure to TB is required in order to develop an infection, only students who had close contact with the student will be screened by the Health Department. Those students were notified specifically in a second letter included with the original letter sent home.
If you have additional questions, please contact the TCPHD at 817.321.4900. Any updated information will be posted to the MISD Web site, www.mansfieldisd.org.
