Fort Worth one of the fastest-growing cities in the country, says U.S. Census and CNNMoney

A study conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau has named the city of Fort Worth, Texas the eleventh fastest-growing in the nation for cities larger than 100,000.

The study, which measures the change in population estimates in U.S. cities from 2005 to 2006, finds that Fort Worth's population increased from 623,119 in July 2005 to 653,320 in July 2006—a 4.8% growth rate.

The Top 10 fastest growing 100,000+ cities are:

#1 North Las Vegas, NV

#2 McKinney, TX

#3 Port St. Lucie, FL

#4 Cape Coral, FL

#5 Gilbert, AZ

#6 Grand Prairie, TX

#7 Peoria, AZ

#8 Cary, NC

#9 Denton, TX

#10 Lancaster, CA

#11 Fort Worth, TX

Additionally, Fort Worth has topped CNNMoney's list of Fastest Growing Cities.
