Wakefield daintily dominated the Rangers with his patented knuckleball

The Texas Rangers performed admirably against the division-leading Red Sox before ultimately losing 2-1 in a rare pitching duel Friday night. Boston pitcher Tim Wakefield and Rangers starter Jamey Wright and the respective bullpens both pitched well against two allegedly stacked lineups.

The Rangers had a chance to go ahead in the seventh, with Sammy "The Bull" Sosa at the plate and the based loaded, was struck out by Manny Delcarmen's unhittable fastballs.

The Rangers' Kenny Lofton had a bittersweet game, going 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, but not a single run scored on the night.
