Raised lakes in Dallas-Fort Worth area could make sailing more dangerous

Rain has raised the levels of local lakes to such an extent that marina operators and the Army Corps of Engineers are issuing warnings about the potential dangers of boating during these saturated times. The shorelines have changed, which can confuse boaters as to actual water depth, not to mention the possibility that they could be running over picnic tables, gas grills, and so on.

An Army Corps spokesman said that 23 of 25 lakes have risen 4 feet since Sunday, and that, holiday weekend or not, he wouldn't go boating at all.
