Summit HS takes on Rockwall in girls basketball 5A state semifinals
The Summit High School girls basketball team will head to Austin this Friday to play in the 5A state semifinals tournament against Rockwall High School. The game will be broadcast on 92.1 FM KXEZ, including over the Internet.
Pregame tickets are $10 and will be $12 at the gate. They may be purchased at Summit High School or through the MISD Athletics Department, as well as at Rockwall HS and the Rockwall ISD athletic office.
The semifinal game will start at 8:30 p.m. at the Erwin Center at the UT campus in Austin. Winner plays for the 5A state championship this Saturday.
Summit coach Samantha Morrow led the Mansfield Lady Tigers to win four consecutive state titles in 1999-2002. The Summit Lady Jaguars have been to the regional tournament three times in the last five years, and this is their first time to win. The team has won more than 30 games in four of the past five years.
