Interview: Farmers Branch City Council candidate Tony Salerno
Tony Salerno doesn't know what seat of the Farmers Branch City Council he is running for yet - he just knows that he is running. The soccer father known to many among the Farmers Branch community as "Coach Salerno" believes that all the commotion over immigration has really caused the City Council to lose their way, and he believes he is the man to bring the appropriate goals for the city back into focus. Salerno stopped by the Pegasus News offices late last week for an interview about his campaign. We discussed:
-Salerno's strong stance against the controversial Farmers Branch immigration ordinance
-Whether humanitarian reasons play a role in his position on the ordinance
-If the ordinance passes by public vote, whether or not he would support a constitutional challenge through the courts
-How he can help business development in Farmers Branch
-Why people should stop criticizing the schools
-His role in the community in recent years.
Oh, and Tony wanted me to mention his new campaign website, http://www.salernoforcouncil.com. It should be up and running soon.
