Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus - Rope Tricks

The Texas Girls’ Choir will host the internationally known Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus in concert on Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Texas Girls’ Choir Concert Hall – 4449 Camp Bowie Blvd. in Fort Worth. The concert is open to the public and admission is “FREE”. The Texas Girls’ Choir will also perform during the afternoon concert.

The Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus – America’s Singing Ambassadors – is a professional choir made up of young boys age 11 to 15 from the Tucson area. Founded in 1939, the Tucson Arizona Boys Chorus has earned the reputation as a premiere music education and performance organization of both traditional, classical boy choir repertoire as well as representing the diversity of the American Southwest. As a boy choir they are unique as they perform cowboy rope tricks as they sing.

Thirty-two boys and four adults will be traveling to Texas on their annual Spring Concert Tour. The choir is under the direction of Dr. Julian Ackerley. Dr. Ackerley has been the chorus’ Director for 27 years and has dedication to artistic quality and the well being of his Choristers have been key to building the reputation of the Chorus into one of the finest Choral organizations in the United States.

The Chorus will visit and perform in eight Texas locations during their two week tour including stops in El Paso, Lubbock, Dallas, Houston, Georgetown, San Antonio, Fort Stockton and Fort Worth. Besides their “free” concert on Sunday, they will perform during the morning Worship Service at First Christian Church on Sunday, March 11th and 10:50 a.m. and appear on the FOX 4 – Good Day Show on – Monday morning March 12th at 8:00 a.m. before leaving for Houston.
