Texas Motor Speedway hears wedding bells
Everybody has a hobby, and/or something they obsess over. For Jeff McGroarty and Nikki Fox of Grand Prairie, it's NASCAR. They definitely qualify as fanatics, with their apartment covered floor-to-ceiling in NASCAR decor, a black and white "NASCAR" cat -- and a dream to get married at Texas Motor Speedway.
The couple had their hearts so set on this dream wedding that they held off on getting married for three years while trying to get Texas Motor Speedway to agree to it. Now with local radio station 96.7 The Twister as a sponsor, the wedding of Jeff and Nikki's dream is coming true.
The couple will exchange vows on April 13, but not without public input first. Starting March 19, 96.7 will hold a public vote on what part of the track to hold the ceremony: the start/finish line or Victory Lane. They are also leaving the wedding attire up to the public, with a vote on whether the lovebirds get married in regular wedding attire or NASCAR suits. While they prefer to get married in the regular garb, I think the NASCAR suits would suit them best. No pun intended. Keep an eye on 96.7's website to cast your vote.
