Rolling Stones Rock & Roll Circus to air on KERA 13
According to a note sent from Bill Young, the Vice President of Television Programming at KERA Channel 13, there's a great "rockumentary" airing March 10 at 8:30 p.m. called The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus:
The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus was recorded in December 1968 by the BBC, but never broadcast. It's a great time capsule of the times (1968-69) with vintage performances by the Stones, Jethro Tull, The Who, Marianne Faithful, Taj Mahal, and Dirty Mac. Dirty Mac was actually a band pieced together to poke fun at Fleetwood Mac made up of John Lennon, Mitch Mitchell (from the Jimi Hendrix Experience), Eric Clapton, and Keith Richards. Overall, not a bad band to just "piece together."
The show was recorded over a two day period on December 11-12, 1968 with the finale recorded at 6:00am. It was also Brian Jones' last performance with the Stones. Cream had just broken up, so it's a Clapton performance that is between the end of Cream and the beginning of Blind Faith.
If you miss the airing this Saturday, you have three more chances to catch the show: Monday, March 12 at 9:30 p.m., Friday, March 16 at 12 a.m., and Saturday, March 17 at 11:00 p.m.

Scott, says:
And if you miss those dates, you can see most of the acts on YouTube. Dirty Mac's "Yer Blues" (from the White Album) and The Who's manic performance of "A Quick One While He's Away" are highlights. Glad to see this turn up on PBS.

Sean Tinsley, says:
Dude, it's about time we ALL get to see it, in it's entirety. Not that us hardcore Brit-rock fans don't all have bootleg copies of it on DVD, HEH, but this is a lost masterpiece. In fact, "Yer Blues" is the only time any BEATLE performed a song from "The Beatles (The White Album)" live, and good lord if that isn't the super-group to end all super-groups. (Until Sir Paul decided to start touring Beatles music played properly again! [finally. heh.]) Cheers. ;)
