Univ. of Dallas offers “summer abroad” travel-study programs
The University of Dallas is offering "summer abroad" study programs in July and August geared for high school students, as well as two trips for teachers and other interested adults.
Two of the high school programs -- Latin in Rome (July 14-August 4) and Shakespeare in Italy (July 21-August 4) -- are held at the University's campus outside central Rome. Thomas More in England (July 17-31) is at Wycombe Abbey in Hertfordshire outside London.
Shakespeare's Renaissance and Baroque Italy (July 3-13), designed for teachers and other interested, will include visits to the sites in Rome that informed and inspired Shakespeare's plays, such as the Coliseum, St. Peter's Basilica, the Forum where Marc Antony spoke over Caesar's corpse, and the spot where Caesar actually died.
The popular "eternal cities" annual study abroad tour in Greece and Tuscany will take place from June 13-24, and visit classical sites of Greece such as Olympia, Mycenae, and Delphi, with a day cruise to Aegina.
For more information, go to the Web site and fill out an electronic inquiry form, or else call (972) 721-5181, or send an email to udsummer@udallas.edu.
