Dallas Mavericks are great and no one cares?
Beat the Lakers, 108-72, for the Mavs' 17th win in a row.
That's what Eric Neel on Page 2 says. Meanwhile, they continue to plow over everyone, such as the Lakers.

It's not fair to say "no one" cares. Just because some nobody at ESPN isn't impressed doesn't mean a lot of other people aren't. If you want to know why the Mavs are "great" just watch them play - it's as simple as that. They are the hardest working team in the NBA right now, hands down. You think they lack personality? That's because you only watch highlights...try following them and you will see one personality shine through and bring them all together, and that is Avery Johnson. It's not like the Mavs have no offense either, it's just not some "superstar" doing a lot of dunking. Is last year's series with Spurs really so far removed that this guy has already forgotten it? Because that was possibly, maybe even probably, the best playoff series in NBA history.

I watched the game with six other people last night and three of them cared. Four if you count me.
Just taking the pulse of the sporting nation.

Blair,
I read that article too. It irked me and I'm glad you mentioned it.
I think a lot of national sports writers are haters because they have a negative opinion of Cuban.
They hate owners that sit in the press box and sip pellegrino but they hate Cuban being in the mix for his team. It's a no win for him.
As long as we care in Dallas, it's all good. Watch how they all hop on once we win the title.
And they hate the fact that we are winning with a classy squad and flat out destroying teams. Our second team could beat most first teams in the NBA.
And I also like that no one on the Mavs is ever in the police blotter.

That's a great summary, Michael.
What's wrong with good, old-fashioned ass-kickers? Last night's game was the worst home loss for LA since the Lakers moved to LA, I believe. But sometimes people either want a team full of video game characters or freaks. Sometimes that's entertaining, I guess. For me it's more entertaining when it's someone else's team.

The big question is why, in a sports article supposedly about the Mavericks, every third word in the article was "I".
