Anyone who got the chance to catch Polyphonic Spree at North by Southwest on Saturday was not only treated to another great performance by this group, but got to hear the announcement that their upcoming CD, The Fragile Army, will be released in June. What day in June? Well, they don't know yet, but June it is. (On a slight side note, in an effort to explain that the CD could come out in any day in June, lead vocalist and Spree brainchild, Tim DeLaughter, I think was using a line from Steve Martin's The Jerk. The mostly 20-something crowd didn't really pick up on it, but I got it, oh yes sir, I got it. Unless he wasn't quoting from The Jerk, in which case, pretend this never happened.)
Anyway, The Fragile Army, the CD and the idea behind the new, "de-robed" look of the group, is expected to hit them shelves in June. You can catch Polyphonic Spree performing old and new material at Riprocks, or rather behind Riprocks and Lucky Lou's in Denton on March 24 as part of the Fry Street Concert Series.

Damn! I laughed at the quote because it was extremely familiar, not to mention hilarious. I knew it was from a movie but I should have known it was from "The Jerk". I believe it was the scene when he was working at the guess your weight booth. Trying to guess Bernadette Peters' weight. Ahhh... memories!
