South Oak Cliff completes three-peat, remains top 4A basketball team
South Oak Cliff (33-3) took a piece of history home with them, along with the 4A championship: The Golden Bears three-peat is only the second in UIL Texas boys' basketball history.
SOC defeated Beaumont Ozen 54-42 on Saturday. The teams struggled from the free-throw line all season, but the Golden Bears made the ones that really counted: They went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line in the final minute of the game.
The Bears advanced to the finals by defeating Pflugerville Connally, 48-44, on Thursday night.
