Residents say White Rock Lake needs emergency signs
As reported by NBC5i, White Rock Lake residents are requesting that the city install emergency signs at various points along the trail circling the lake. Residents and visitors occasionally find the need to call for police or other assistance, like Hal Barker after he and his dog were attacked by another dog. Unfortunately, there are no physical addresses for much of the area, making it difficult for police to find these people. The emergency signs, or stations similar to those found on most college campuses and along some highways, would make it easier for a person to call in and have their location immediately recognized.
At this time, the city says it does not have the budget to install such an emergency system.
