State cancels $900 million deal with Accenture

Sorry, Texas kids. Your food stamps will just have to wait.
DALLAS According to a story in the Dallas Business Journal, it appears that the impasse between the state's Health and Human Services Commission and Accenture has led to the state canceling a $900 million contract.
The original contract was to run the state's Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP), and covers a variety of services including Medicaid and food stamps. While details of the conflict were not disclosed, both the state and Accenture are insisting the decision to end the contract was mutual, and not based on performance.
Accenture has said it will move the 400 employees who were working on the contract to another project.
