Texas Tycoons will host opening ABA playoff round

The Texas Tycoons will host the winner of the Detroit Panthers/Peoria Kings matchup in Dallas at the Tycoons' home floor at Mountain View College on March 19. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. The Tycoons will be hosting a pre-game playoff party with live music before the game.

Texas (22-5) is ranked #3 in the final ABA Power Rankings of the season. (Look up "ABA Power Rankings" on Google and it will say, "Did you mean: NBA Power Rankings"? Ah, no. Google. That is not what I meant. I've always thought Google should add "dumb ass" to the end of that sentence when it can't find what you're looking for, because even though they don't say it, that's what they mean.)

The Vermont Frost Heaves (names are one reason why I love the ABA) is ranked #1, followed by the Jacksonville Jam. The Cape Cod Frenzy is/are (how many is a frenzy?) so terrible this year. They are ranked last at #2ocrappy4. Another reason I love the ABA is because next season they will have almost 70 teams in the league.

Did you say almost 70?

Yes.

Don't forget that the Texas Tycoons Tryouts to the Championship Vol. 1 DVD just went on sale for $10. Volume 2 is in production right NOW! Actually, with proof of paid admission, DVDs are only $5. I bought a copy of Logan's Run at Wal-Mart for slightly more than that, so there is no reason to not buy a Tycoons DVD if you're at a game. You can't even get a beer for that price at a Rangers game, and by the 6th inning you're just gonna pee that out.

Also don't forget that after the ABA champion is crowned in March, the new WBA league cranks up, starring - yeah! - your Texas Tycoons.

What do you think?
