Gospel cable-TV channel officially outski in Dallas
The Gospel Music Channel, a cable TV channel dedicated to gospel music, is being cut from 10 cities including Dallas.
The station was axed by DirecTV for "business-related reasons." But Gospel Music Channel executives urge folks not to be jumping to conclusions about the station's unpopularity or lack of success.
"I don't want people to think that just because DirecTV has to make business decisions on 10 local markets that it's indicative of the direction the channel is in,” said president Charles Humbard.
He and his associates insist that the outlook is still positive for the network, since the reason it was pulled was "unrelated business issues" and definitely, totally NOT because of any "lack of success."
