UPDATED: North Richland Hills woman shot, killed in domestic dispute
A 66-year-old woman, who was apparently involved in a domestic dispute with her husband, was shot twice and later pronounced dead at John Peter Smith Hospital Monday evening. The husband, 67, called the police to tell them that he had shot his wife, and when the police arrived he simply walked out the front of their home with his hands in the air. The couple lived in the 8400 block of Gifford Lane in North Richland Hills.
As of Monday evening police were investigating what caused the dispute that led to the shooting, as well as searching the home for the weapon and other evidence.
UPDATE: According to the 911 tape, released Tuesday afternoon, the man said he shot his wife because "she ridiculed and enticed him throughout his life" (quoted from S-T), whatever that means. I mean, I know that divorce is a pain, but it seems that prison is going to be a little worse. Just my take. I suppose when you are willing to shoot your wife, rationality is not a part of the equation any longer.
