Dallas man holds 1 year old child hostage
Early this morning at about 8:00 AM, the suspect threatened to take his own life in the presence of his estranged wife, as she dropped off their 1 year old daughter at 2714 Andrea Lane. The complainant left the location and called for police. The 1 year old was still in the residence. Patrol officers were unable to make contact with the suspect and were told there were weapons in the house. After several hours SWAT officers were unable to make contact with the suspect and entered the residence. The suspect was located in the bedroom of the residence. The baby was not injured. The suspects name is Fernando Gomez (31 years old). The suspect was admitted to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
