Irving’s Barton Elementary celebrates the big “5-0.”
During Texas Public Schools Week, Irving's Barton Elementary School held a 50th birthday celebration in conjunction with the school's annual open house.
During his remarks, Superintendent Jack Singley spoke fondly of Lee Bose Barton, the school's namesake, as well as former principal C.R. Clodfelter, who had been a key figure in establishing the school's legacy in the 60's.
Additionally, Randy Stipes, IISD Board of Trustees president, provided welcoming remarks, while Irving Mayor Herbert Gears presented a city proclamation in honor of Barton's birthday.
