Theater Spotlight of the Week: Jaime Castañeda
Interview with Jaime Castañeda, Director of Lincolnesque
Jaime Castañeda is already making a name for himself in this city and he is pretty young to be doing that. So I had to feature him this week since this guy will definitely be making his mark on the DFW theater scene. He has traveled all over the country (even to Alaska) working with theaters and studying, and he has come back to the DFW community. So I asked him how these career highlights have led him back to DFW and what he sees is needed in the community.
He is also the Artistic Director for the local theater company, Firestarter Productions, which was started a few years back, and he speaks about what they plan to produce and how the vision of the company is evolving (he says they may be even getting involved with film-making). He also mentions how he would like to get more Latino works out to the public.
Right now, he has a show going on with Circle Theatre entitled Lincolnesque, and he speaks about the story and its social significance. To find out more info about the show click here: Lincolnesque.
