Teachers and paraprofessionals of the year for 2007-08 have been selected at each campus and will be honored at the Employee Recognition Reception on May 10, 4-6 p.m., at the Grapevine Convention Center.
Two District teachers of the year will be selected from this group and announced at the reception. Those two teachers, one elementary and one secondary, then will advance to the regional level, with an opportunity to continue on to the Texas Teacher of the Year competition. From the campus paraprofessionals of the year, one will be selected to receive the Carolyn Franks Award to be announced at the GCISD reception in May.
These outstanding employees have been selected for a wide variety of positive traits and actions but ALL stand out at their campuses as people who continuously put students first.
