New Interview: Hendrick

Interview with Josh Hendrick

podcast-image

Josh Hendrick from, you got it, Hendrick stopped in to the Pegasus News offices to catch us up with what the band has been up to and to play a couple songs. It has been more than a year since we last met with the band, and a lot has happened in that time.

Last March Hendrick released We Share the Sky which has garnered much respect in the local scene and built up a loyal fan following. Now the band is headed back to the studio to record their next album, which promises to be a more mature record that still draws on the factors that made the last album successful: catchy yet thoughtful pop/indie-inspired hooks and universal themes/lyrics that fans can identify with.

Some of the topics Josh spoke about in the interview include:

  • The success of We Share the Sky and its reception by the public
  • Getting back into the studio, and what to expect from the next album
  • Favorite local venues and bands
  • Their upcoming show at the Granada on March 31
  • The state of the Dallas music scene, closing venues, and whether there is still hope
  • Hendrick and "good love songs": the draw of one of the oldest topics in music

Josh also played a couple songs in the Pegasus News studio, "Feeling In My Heart" from the upcoming album and "Black and White World" from We Share the Sky.
