UT Arlington puts on fifteen-hour-long recitation of Homer’s Odyssey
Lovers of lengthy literature can partake in a UTA's “Homerathon” which is an unabridged reading of Homer's poem “The Odyssey.”
Sponsored by the University Classics Club, the event began at 7:00 a.m. this morning the same way the 1300-year-old poem begins: with an “Invocation to the Muse."
The marathon recitation, mostly in English translation, will continue until 10:30 p.m., or until “child of morning, rosy-fingered Dawn” appears, or until someone dies.
This event is free and open to the public.
