Fort Worth-Everman ISD Chess Tournament enjoys large turnout
A battle of wits and nerdery.
The Fort Worth-Everman ISD Chess Tournament was held on April 14 at Western Hills Primary School. Ninety-one players from grades 1-12 competed in four sections. Twenty-three schools were represented in this five-round Swiss System tournament.
In the Lower Elementary section, which includes players up to third grade, Versia Williams ES won the team crown, and Jacob Moreno from Williams ES won the individual award.
The Upper Elementary team winner was Lily B. Clayton ES, and the individual winner was Kevin Wolfskill of Woodway ES.
The Middle School team champions were from Leonard 6th Grade Center, and the individual winner was Devan Subramanian of McLean MS.
In the High School section Polytechnic HS and Frank Flores of Polytechnic were the champs.
Congratulations to the winners and all of the participants.
