UPDATED: Marine Corps questions Steve Austin’s background
Local hip-hop artist Steve Austin has no doubt put a dent in the DFW music scene. His performances are top-notch and his music is of such a high quality that major labels are now giving him a shot with his latest album 800lb. Gorilla that continues to climb the charts. Much of the local hip-hop community has rallied behind Steve in support of his new album. That is no surprise since Steve has always seemingly taken every opportunity to be supportive of the artists around him.
That doesn't mean, however, that absolutely everyone is supporting Steve at the moment. In particular, the U.S. Marine Corps has taken issue with the Bioniq MC. In the past, Steve has claimed to have proudly served as a U.S. Marine, but according to this article in a Marine publication, there is no record of Austin's service. I've contacted Steve to get his take on the article and haven't yet received a response. I hope to report more soon.
UPDATE: Steve Austin's publicist Bridgette Cush tells the Dallas Morning News that there is indeed a discrepancy in Austin's claim of a military background. However, Cush also tells the DMN that she will not elaborate on what the discrepancy is. Steve declined to discuss the issue with the DMN.

If he truly served in the marines, he should be proud to talk about it.
