Golden State Warriors 111, Dallas Mavericks 86
The Mavericks were absolutely steamrolled Thursday night in Oakland, posting one of their least inspired efforts in recent memory in their final game of the season. Providing easy fodder for the biggest first-round upset in NBA history, the Mavs collapsed in the third quarter, getting outscored 36-15 en route to a 111-86 spanking.
The Mavericks were led by Dirk Nowitzki's worst performance of his career, who shot 2-for-13, including 0-for-6 from the three-point line, scoring just 8 points. The Mavs also got decent but untimely performances from Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse, who scored 20 apiece. Stephen "Premature Ejection" Jackson led the Warriors with 33 points, including making 7 of his 8 three point shots.

Ok, I am all ready sick of this summer of Dirk bashing, when the real problem was Dampier - no inside presence means no help for Dirk. Is Dirk a 5? NO! Why should we expect him to post up when the Mavs are paying in excess of 10M for the Drizzle?

That's three Dallas teams, three first-round playoff disappointments.
If the Rangers make it to the first round and lose, is it really a disappointment? I might call that a huge triumph.

It is what it is. Gotta give it to GSW. As a team, they wanted it. Dallas had a few people that wanted it and a coach that wanted it, but not a whole team. George & Buckner, two supposed defensive stoppers, were useless. One highlight: we learned Diop is a player, and we can watch him progress while Damp takes a deserved set on the bench.

Hey, I'm not saying it's going to be easy, but if Cuban can make millions on "the internets" surely he can find some dupe to take The Drizzle.

Well, now that Markie Mark has some spare time on his hands, maybe he can attend to the 6+ mill in back pay he still owes Nellie! Oh yea, and he can get a haircut and shop for some new clothes, too. ;-)
