Duncanville Council and school board expected to be among higher-turnout elections Saturday

If early voting is any indication, a record number of ballots may be cast in the Saturday, May 12, election.

As of May 6, the Dallas County Elections Department reported a total of 1,008 votes cast in for Duncanville City Council and school board, with two days left in early voting, which ended May 8.

This year's slate of offices includes the Duncanville City Councilmember at-large position and councilmembers to represent Districts 1, 3 and 5.

All registered voters in the city may vote on the at-large position. Registered voters residing in Districts 1, 3 and 5 may vote for their respective candidates.

Voting hours are from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the polling locations listed as follows:

Byrd Middle School, 1040 W. Wheatland Road; Reed Middle School, 530 E. Freeman St.; and Fairmeadows Elementary School, 100 E. Fairmeadows Drive.

Precinct polling locations are:

- 4200 Byrd

- 4201-02 Reed

- 4203 Byrd

- 4204-5 Reed

- 4206-07 Byrd

- 4208 Reed

- 4209 Byrd

- 4210-4212 Fairmeadows

- 4213 Reed

Voters may also make selections for Duncanville School District Board of Trustees to serve in places 1, 2 and 3. All trustees are elected at large to serve three-year terms.

Because the school district includes portions of Cedar Hill, Dallas and DeSoto, more polling places are available than those listed above.
