UPDATED x2: Irving’s Brown Elementary to donate custom-made van to muscular dystrophy students
Next Friday morning (May 18th) at 8:45 a.m., students, staff and parents at Brown Elementary School will present a shiny new van to student Zachary Frost and his family.
The van—which accommodates not one but two wheelchairs—was designed to help the Frost family's sons, Zachary and Jacob (who have muscular dystrophy) achieve a more manageable quality of life. Zachary (Zach Frost, eh?) attends Brown.
For the past year and a half, staff and students at Brown have sponsored a campaign to raise funds to purchase the van. All-in-all, the school raised $65,000 in donations—enough money to cover the cost of the van, insurance and some gasoline.
UPDATE: Irving residents are invited to attend the event, which will provide picnic table seating and VIP parking.
UPDATE: x2
