Dallas council elections will have sequels
DALLAS Not a lot of resolution in the Dallas City Council elections...The mayor's race, as predicted, ends in a runoff. (What else could happen with eleven candidates?) Tom Leppert and Ed Oakley will face off in the June 16th runoff election.
Elba Garcia took an uncontested District 1 race. Ditto for Steve Salazar in District 6, Jerry Allen in District 10, Linda Koop in 11 and Mitchell Rasansky in District 13.
Pauline Medrano won District 2 in a landslide.
District 3 will see a runoff between Dave Neumann and Joseph Hernandez.
Dwaine Caraway took District 4 in a landslide.
Vonciel Jones Hill and Betty Culbreath will face off in a District 5 runoff.
Billy Ratcliff, who was ruled ineligible due to a residency snafu handily took the District 7 vote, and vows a legal challenge to get into the runoff. Otherwise, the runoff will be between Donald Parish and Carolyn Davis.
District 8 is a runoff between Tennell Atkins and Charles Rose.
In District 9, Sheffie Kadane barely got enough votes to win and avoid a runoff with Jill Kotvis.
Ron Natinsky easily won District 12 as did Angela Hunt District 14.
