Kelly Clarkson’s My December hits shelves June 26

Burleson native Kelly Clarkson announced on her blog that the release date of her third album, My December, will be pushed up from mid-July to June 26. Though Clarkson has shared writing credit on some of her past material, she reportedly co-wrote nearly all of the songs on this effort, which features an unusual guest star: bassist Mike Watt, of seminal L.A. band the Minutemen, who performs on three songs.

This story has her addressing scuttlebutt that Clive Davis, CEO of BMG/RCA, didn't like some of the songs; she says it's been exaggerated and that there's nothing wrong with a minor disagreement. She'll tour this summer to promote the disc.

Clarkson appeared on the 42nd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards on Tuesday night, as a special guest, where she dueted with Reba McIntire on the song "Because of You," from McIntire's upcoming CD Duets.

I was thinking that yesterday. There are tons of songs about December, not including holiday songs. Linkin Park's "My December" was on <i>Hybrid Theory</i>. AFI has "December Underground." Then there's the best "December" song by Collective Soul. Those are just the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. December sure is a hit topic for songs, eh?

lol, ok, so my december is the name of the album. There isn't a song on the album called my december. and yes she does write her own songs. she's written on her album since the first album.
