Vans Warped Tour getting greener each year

Warped Tour is taking measures to lower its environmental impact. It will be a nice change of pace to see passed-out, vegan punks and organic-only vomit lining Smirnoff's beer gardens this year.

The 2007 Vans Warped Tour, which stops in Dallas on July 14, has taken strides in recent years to lower its environmental impact. Per a press release from Warped:

The tour will continue to implement and develop its “Warped Eco Initiatives” (WEI), including: biodiesel fuel for touring trucks and buses, environmentally friendly catering for bands and crew courtesy of Tada Catering and a solar-powered sound system. In 2007, Warped will also team with Philippe Cousteau’s environmental organization Earth Echo International, which “empowers individuals to take action to sustain and enhance our water planet.” [Tour founder and producer, Kevin] Lyman and the Vans Warped Tour strive to develop multiple ways to help the environment and create awareness through action.

Imitation is just one way to love the Earth for eco-friendly punks this year.
