With the agreement, EDS will provide technology services in support of the World Bank Group's development mission in the areas of software applications, customer relationship management, and technology infrastructure and information management. The agreement also includes quality assurance, which will help reduce rework, maintain highly motivated employees, and provide consistent and repeatable processes to improve productivity organization wide.

"EDS' reputation as one of the world's largest IT services companies operating in more than 60 countries, along with our strong presence serving the government in Washington D.C., strongly positions EDS to assist the World Bank Group in achieving its goals in the U.S. and abroad," said Jim Duffey, EDS general manager, U.S. Public Sector. "We are uniquely qualified to meet the organization's needs worldwide by applying the proven best practices from our global government and financial industry experiences."

Sanders Kaufman, says:

Boy, you can sure tell that a Bush Republican is running the World Bank when it gives a company like EDS a so-called contract for "Indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity" of IT services.

It's good that this local corporation will be bringing all of that money into the community - but it's a real shame that they choose to do business with crooks in order to get that cash.

I think it says a lot about the character of the people who work at EDS that they are willing to go along with this.

The World Bank was setup to provide loan assistance to developing nations. But ever since the Republicans seized control, it's been corrupted out of performing its mission. Now, it's become another BCCI - an unregulated, off-shore clearinghouse for moving illegal arms and oil profits.

And when they needed someone to manage that information without spilling the beans - they found a willing ally in the people who work at EDS.

Shame on them both.
