— The Polyphonic Spree, about whom one can never write enough words, have announced the dates for their summer tour through North America in support of their new album, The Fragile Army, coming out on TVT Records on June 19.

The tour launches June 23 at the Granada Theatre in Dallas, heads up to the northeast, hits Montreal and Toronto, snakes through Milwaukee and Minneapolis, skims the West Coast, swoops through Colorado, and ends on August 3 at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

The Spree have a new look and sound, says TVT, with "more driven, urgent songwriting" and "black military-style uniforms" (oooh, scary).

Lord bless Charlie Mops, the man who invented beer, beer, beer, tiddly beer, beer, beer..." I have my beer drinking song ready. Do you? More info
