Five HEB students graduate from culinary intern program at Hyatt Regency DFW
From left: Hyatt Regency DFW general manager Larry Daniels, Amy Jones, Victor Rodriguez, Marianne Demmer, Shanice Trujillo, Ben Maxwell, HEB ISD instructor Deborah Hawkins, and Hyatt Regency DFW executive chef Mark Rowston.
Hyatt Regency DFW’s Executive Chef Mark Rowston along with his culinary team and HEB ISD representatives hosted a reception for five culinary interns, honoring their completion of the Hyatt Regency DFW HEB Culinary Internship program.
The program required that the five interns spend two hours a day, four days a week, working in Hyatt Regency DFW’s kitchen, alongside other Hyatt employees.
One received a $5,000 scholarship from the Texas Restaurant Association; another will continue a part-time culinary position at Hyatt Regency DFW.
And now, for the interns:
• Amy Jones – Trinity High School
• Victor Rodriguez – Trinity High School
• Marianne Demmer – Trinity High School
• Shanice Trujillo – L.D. Bell High School
• Ben Maxwell – Trinity High School
The HEB ISD Culinary Internship program began in 2003. Located in northeast Tarrant County, the Hurst-Euless-Bedford school district serves 20,000 students. The culinary arts program is just one of several program parents and students may explore.
