Lancaster ISD meeting is routine

This called meeting May 21, 2007 at 7:00 produced no action. The Board of Trustees did not meet in Executive session as called for in the agenda.

A set of charts were presented by Mr. Gonzales to the Board of Trustees about elementary school attendance zones and the number of students in each school. The only recommended change was to move a portion of the Houston School Elementary attendance zone to the Beltline Elementary attendance zone. Mr. Gonzales made a statement that he and Mr. Pape had visited each classroom and made a determination that some should not be used. There was no mention of the vacant East Campus (Westridge) school

The meeting lasted about 30 minutes. For all my suspicions of the meeting, the meeting was routine. From the material presented, the Called Meeting seemed unnecessary.

A canvass of the May 12, 2007 election votes was held May 21, 2007 at 4:00 pm. While I was not present, my understanding was that the unofficial vote count was certified as correct.

This is a response to a previous report comment. The LISD has a paid employee in Public Relations to promote and publish the positive successes of the athletic and artistic students. I do not have the time or resources to compete with the LISD Public Relations department. While some may view my reports as negative, my goal is to report information that the LISD would prefer to keep hidden from the Board of Trustees and the public.

Alan Cohen, says:

The problem wasn't the reporting. The problem that readers are pointing out is that you created a conspiracy about a meeting before you realized what the meeting was even about. If Lancaster ISD or members of the Lancaster ISD board are doing things you disagree with, then by all means say so. But I can certainly see where it looks like you are more concerned with making them look bad than actually improving the district.

Bravo, Alan Cohen!!

Finally, an intelligent reader emerges. Seems to this reader, that is exactly what this concerned citizen has been trying to say all along. It is so breathtaking to see that there are other readers who are seeing through the garbage that is being reported.

If it the said responsibility of the PR Director of LISD, then why don't the article writer allow her to publish all the news, the good, the bad and the ugly.

What makes Richard Greisman so high and mighty.

Thanks again, Mr. Cohen, for your comment.
