United Way Metro Dallas will give $43 million to North Texas non-profits this year
Thank goodness, a happy story among this morning's murders, robberies, and whatnot.
The United Way of Metropolitan Dallas announced Thursday that it would be giving $43 million to North Texas non-profits this year. $29 million will be designated for the organization's community investment fund to benefit residents in Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, and Denton counties. Of the $43 million, a significant portion will continue to be apportioned to "Back On My Feet Again," a program designed to help small-business owners displaced by Katrina establish businesses in their new communities. For a more specific breakdown of how the money will be allocated, please check out the United Way's website.
This successful pledge year for United Way Metro Dallas is joined by United Way Tarrant County, which announced a record breaking year as well, raising nearly $24 million.
