Gachet Coffee Lounge moving and opening second branch in Victory Park

3

Gachet Coffee Lounge, the hipster Greenville-Avenue coffee place, is bailing Greenville Ave. to move to the so-hot-it-hurts Henderson area east of 75, at 2501 Capitol Avenue, at the corner of Henderson and Capitol -- in the same sizzling-on-fire center that will be home to Pulcinella pizza and a bar called the Capitol Pub, being opened by the team that owns Idle Rich Pub, Dubliner and Old Monk.

Gachet's last day on Greenville was Memorial Day, May 28. The new location will open in July, and will be bigger, although the management promises there'll still be a patio for its popular "Monday night movie" series.

Even farther afield from Greenville is Victory Park -- but that's where the second branch of Gachet will open in June, at 2336 Victory Park Lane.

It's too bad, really. One of Dallas' only independent coffee houses, moving to parts of town where the "Frappuccino" is king? Best of luck to them, though I can't imagine they'll be appreciated unless they hone their skills on the blender.

So I tried to go to my first Monday night movie on Memorial Day and walked into the deserted building on Greenville. Was uber-confused. When in July are they re-opening?

Insider info: Staff and management have reported that a large-scale bar in Addison (Duke's I think) is partnering up with the bar next door (The Beagle) and that the Henderson project was the best and closest opportunity to maintain what everyone loves about Gachet and offer more.,,guess we'll see
