Theater Spotlight of the Week: Jac Alder
New interview with the Co-Founder & Executive Producer of Theatre Three and the director of Caroline, or Change.
Interview with Jac Alder, Director of Caroline, or Change
Theatre Three is about to conclude its 46th season with the musical, Caroline, or Change, so I figured it was about time to feature someone integral to this prestigious theater company. Jac Alder totally fit that. Not only is he directing the musical, but he is one of the founders of Theatre Three and the Executive Producer/Director.
He talks about the naming and the foundation of Theatre Three with his wife (the late Norma Young), and what they saw was necessary to Dallas at the time. He then talks about what he thinks has made the company prosper for such a long time and what has changed over time. I then ask him if there are certain shows the public expects, and how the audience responds when they do produce edgier works.

He then talks about the current show, Caroline, or Change, and its place in the "season of the underdog". He ends by bragging about the lead actress who has many glorious credits to her name.
