The TCU women's tennis doubles duo of Macall Harkins and Anna Sydorska recorded an 8-0 shutout over Fresno Pacific's Anna Karavayeva and Maria Kolkotsky in the opening round of the 2007 ITA Intercollegiate Indoor Championships on Thursday.
"Macall and Anna came out with the right amount of intensity and energy today," said TCU head coach Jefferson Hammond. "They were focused and played well against a strong team."
Harkins and Sydorska, ranked No. 14 nationally, will meet the nation's third-ranked doubles team of Kristi Miller and Whitney McCray of Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals on Friday at 9 a.m.
With Thursday's win, Sydorska has advanced to at least the doubles quarterfinal round of the ITA Indoor Championships for three consecutive years.
